Planning for 2018

At the meeting on Saturday 25th November we discussed our program for 2018. This is the stage we are at... with times to be confirmed...asap please. Recently there have been some discussions about how to prepare images of work for sale online and the possibility of an online presence. Currently the group promotes gallery activities and artists look after their own enterprise. There are some strategies which can help artists to promote their work in the best light.  If people are interested in knowing more about preparing images for online sales there is a workshop on 3rd March. November Events

On November 2nd the Port Augusta Secondary School opened an exhibition of art works by senior students. The small gallery was perfect for this and each student's work was displayed well. There were about 50 people at the opening and quite a few returned to have another look during the fortnight the work was on display. It was encouraging to see young people connect with the local art gallery and we look forward to an ongoing association. On Wednesday the 15th November The Port Augusta Writers Launched the book they created in collaboration with the Whyalla Writers at The Port Augusta Library. Everyone is to be congratulated on the result. "Recipes for Living" is the title of the anthology and provides something  for all tastes in writing.  Members of The Fibrespace Textile Art group met at The Platform Gallery o n Thursday 16th November  to assemble a piece of work that is destined for Lapland.
